Morocco

There are two British Council centres in Morocco.  Both of them showcase the best of contemporary UK in offering courses and exams for all levels and all ages and providing educational support for students, professionals and partners.

British Council opened in Morocco in 1960 as the the UK's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.

 

It creates learning opportunities for people in Morocco through the provision of quality English language learning and examinations services. It facilitates access to reliable high quality information about British education resources, training and scholarship opportunities in the UK.

 

The British Council brings to Morocco varied resources and programmes of film, music, sport and literature that demonstrate the creativity, quality and modernity of British Culture.

 

It contributed to intercultural understanding between young people in Morocco and the UK by building networks through educational and artistic links.

 

The British Council's partnership programme brings together Moroccan and British government bodies, civil society, educational and professional institutions, and individuals, to showcase British diversity and innovation and to share experience and best practice in the areas of Arts, Education, English Language Teaching, and Society.

 

It brings together Moroccan and British people for their mutual benefit and greater understanding.

 

For the past two years the British Council Morocco has played host to the Moroccan Writers' Community. This was a group of dedicated Moroccan writers and scholars who have been writing in English and in collaboration with a variety of UK-based writers. It was such a success that it was decided to carry it over this year with several North African countries. You can find its result on the Medi-Café website.
